'Wolven' is a modern interpretation of my 2009 release 'Wolfskin'. Whilst 'Wolfskin' was a series of guitar and synth sketches made to open the Hibernate label, 'Wolven' was a more developed work I wanted to create in collaboration with a focus on more post-classical and drone suites. With the help of Aaron Martin the album was fully formed alongside friends who kindly created wonderful reworkings.

After doing work with Brock Van Wey for Home Normal, as well as our album 'The Truth Hurts', we started talking about reworking his favourite album of mine ('Wolfskin'). Brock ended up locking himself away and creating three expanded ambient works that are a hallmark of his genius with texture and long form motion.

Since its release in 2013 it has appeared in a number of short films and dance performances around the world. It also marked the beginning of my work with Aaron Martin to form The Wading Choir (as of 2020).

Disc 1 (tracks 1 - 11) is an interpretation written and arranged by Ian Hawgood, with the help of Aaron Martin on cello and featuring reworkings by Dag Rosenqvist, Spheruleus, Pillowdiver, y0t0 and Hakobune

Disc 2 (tracks 12 - 14) is an interpretation written and arranged by Brock Van Wey (bvdub)
