about

Originally released in 2008 on Headphonica. 'Nowhere Home' is an album about my first year and a bit living in Japan way back in 2001 - 2002. I lived right by Togoshi Koen ('koen' means 'park') which was a magical little place for a lone foreigner to live at the time really. I came up with the name 'Koen Park' simply because most people would put the two words together when speaking in English, making 'Koen' part of the name. I also liked the idea that it basically comes out meaning 'park park' which was a name I used before anyway.

My Togoshi Four guise also stems from this period where I would travel up to north Tokyo to practice with the band I was in, then promptly come home to my tiny apartment that was basically a bed with gear surrounding it, and record non-stop. I'd also take myself to the park quite often in the middle of the night to record music on my little Fostex X-18 cassette recorder, which I still use to this day.

This version has been re-mastered in 2016 from the original four-track recordings.
